I agree with the fact that we are all attracted to western culture in many ways. English is unavoidable here in India too. It's the official language. I am not complaining about it. But profanity in English ? I can't tolerate it in India. I can tolerate it in English speaking countries but not in here. Same way I can even accept profanity in Indian languages in India.
But that's my point. It's bad enough that we hear profanity in our own languages.
The worst situation here is, since profanity in a foreign language doesn't feel natural here, the current teenagers are not stopped from using it, even among family members.
I blame the over adaptation to western culture that forces the teenagers now to use profanity among family. It doesn't sound cool. It's sounds stupid and bad !
Not just the teenagers even the grown ups. We watch a lot of foreign language movies and get attracted to our favourite actors' dialects and slangs. But we don't just leave it to that, do we ?
I wish this changes.
