"Southpaw jinx nothing"

Hey fellas, Let's Get Entertained.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Get Entertained ?

I will talk about the Entertainment part of the universe. 

I always wait for Jake Gyllenhaal's movies and Southpaw is one of his movies that I so wanted to watch. If you are a Rocky fan, you would have gotten the blog title "Southpaw jinx nothing" where I quoted Apollo Creed. Here for this movie 'Southpaw' is quite a smart choice for a movie title. 

Similar to Rocky, Billy Hope in Southpaw faces ups and downs in his life. Only here Billy Hope when facing the downs, goes terribly down because of his wife's death. So this movie even though clearly will have a boxing match ending, is an emotional rollercoaster if we have to put it in generic words. 

Like Adrian for Rocky, Maureen (Rachel McAdams) for Billy is the driving force for the boxer. Oh Rachel Rachel. Even though she comes on only for the fist few minutes in the movie, oh boy did she kill the role (pun intended). She was amazing as a tough wife of a boxer who makes decisions for him. 

Now about this Billy Hope, he is just simple to judge. A reckless, defenseless boxer who loves his family. So, clearly the death of Billy's wife turns the speed of the movie around and what factor makes the boxer to get back on a better path ? Getting his daughter back from social services who took her obviously because of his recklessness. 

That girl Oona Laurence who plays Leila Hope can really do intense roles at this age. Impressive. Usually kids trying to play mature roles annoy me but this one just impressed me. 

And Forest Whitaker's role could have done more justice to him. Yes I said it right. 

50 Cent who ? haha 

Did you know Eminem was supposed to play the lead role for this movie ? But he later decided just to write songs for this movie. I love "I am phenomenal" and "Kings never die". Playing on repeat right now while I am writing this. 

Jake always makes good movies better. He did a great job again here. His voice and speed of speech everything was different here. And woah that guy got ripped as hell.

I would easily give Southpaw a 9/10.

Surface Pro 3 - #LetsTalkTech

Hey fellas, Let's Talk Tech.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Talk Tech ? 

I will talk about Technology and stuff happening around in that part of the universe.

So Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 event happened today and it made me get back to my blog. I am just gonna give you guys the gist about the product in the aspect we care about.

Basically Microsoft had this 'Versus Apple' theme again saying Surface Pro 3 is a replacement of iPad and MBA combined. In a traditional tech event way, they gave some statistics about most of the apple customers who have an iPad also have a computer. So releasing a tablet that will replace your laptop. Sounds catchy and tempting, but is it up to the mark ?

Here is what you need to know and keep in mind after today's event if at all you are tempted to buy Surface Pro 3. With Microsoft's hint I am gonna use MBA to compare to make my point. 

MBA (Core i5) with Intel's Haswell processor microarchitecture, has been on sale for about an year and after its recent price reduction it costs $900.

Surface Pro 3 on the other hand is being introduced now with the same Haswell processor. The issue here is Intel has confirmed the release of PCs with Haswell's successor - Broadwell chips in the near future. So if you buy Surface Pro 3, it will be outdated before even you know it. And the Core i5 equivalent is $100 more than MBA. Also its unclear (may be to me) whether the start price of $799 (Core i3) includes the peripheral devices. 

Well the other aspects of device type and usage, Surface has a detachable keyboard and touch screen feature which is what Microsoft is emphasizing on. And Surface has a better display of 2160x1440. Although I don't care much about the little difference in weight of the devices, it might matter for some of you who like cases on PDAs because it weighs almost the same as MBA with the peripheral devices.

Well these are not all the deciding factors. Let someone buy it and we'll ask them about the performance aspects, battery life etc etc., before we come to a conclusion.

The latest pic I am proud of - #LetsCLike

Hey fellas, Let's CLike. 

What will I be talking about in here on Let's CLike ? 

I will talk about the pics I ‘clicked or liked’.

I am not sure whether this is how everyone who likes to take pictures feel like, but I sure do. That is, even if you get criticized right to your face about the pics you take, you still like em and are really proud of it. 

The above recent pic of my friend's daughter Katelyn, that I took is what I really like. Yes, this is one of the pics I got bad feedback for from people with really "good taste". Hahaha I am just kidding. NOT. :P

I don't know how or why, but the eyes of babies are so much sharper and majestic compared to our sick and tired adult eyes. 

So technically a professional photographer might find faults in this pic and may be others wouldn't consider this a great pic, but I had so much fun while editing the pic which made me like it so much. I just enhanced the colour a little and cropped the edges. Apart from that most of the light in it are natural sun light.

Purple Wedding - #LetsGetEntertained

Hey fellas, Let's Get Entertained.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Get Entertained ?

I will talk about the Entertainment part of the universe. 

Game of Thrones fans * SPOILERS * ahead. 

So another bad wedding that ended badly at Westeros. It's probably the time for them to change their wedding planner guy. So the kid from Batman Begins who became the most hated on screen villain ever is now finally dead. Btw this is the best compliment any actor could get. I want to mention what I heard about the note that George R.R Martin sent to Jack Gleeson which said "Everyone hates you. Congratulations".

And about the purple wedding which is called that because of the colour of the wine that caused his death, if I am not wrong. I actually thought King Jeoffrey's death would be a very gore death like beheading by one of the Starks or may be the Snow. Even though we still don't know who did it now. I am guessing Hodor. Hmmm. 

Also this episode made everyone wanting Tyrion to lose his patience but it just made it more better. So, from this point is where we could expect a lot more 'edge of the seat' events in Westeros. 

And I can't pretend not seeing where the dragon flew over in the previews. Woo !

Google Glass sale day (Only in US) - #LetsTalkTech

Hey US residents, Happy Google Glass sale day. Just today, Google glass' 'Explorer' version goes on sale for US residents with Google apologizing to other country residents that they are not yet ready for sales on other countries.

The $1500 (price hasn't changed since the start) smart eye-wear will certainly make more fuzz today (15th April 2014), being on sale.

I really want to see the categories of target customers and the interested customers on Google glass, particular during this period of time.

Latest News: Just a day before going on sale, Google updates Glass to Android with KitKat support canceling video calls.

Know how to use the internet - #LetsSeeWhatsHappening

Hey fellas, Let's See What's Happening,

What will I be talking about in here on Let's See What's Happening ?

 I will talk about topics like news and other stuff that I feel I must talk about.

Even though I am used to seeing messed up people using the internet in the most wrong ways, this one made me *Facepalm* saying 'how could any human brain work like this ?'.

Twitter is a very powerful and truthfully a very fun filled media. If you use it right, you will get the most out of using the internet. No matter how old you are, what you do for a living, what your interests are, etc, etc, there is always something for you on Twitter. Sadly even if you are bad or stupid there is something for you too. Hurray ! 

One of the few things that annoy me on Twitter is people begging for 'followers' and trying to talk stupid and weird just to get attention. In other words, people who need help are everywhere on twitter. 

One such kind of a fourteen year old named Sarah, just to get attention and followers (which she did) tweeted something thats shown in the below pic, with the word Al Qaeda in it 'as a joke' to the American Airlines' twitter account. 

I am not surprised at the response of AA saying they take these kinda threats seriously and they are reporting it to the FBI. 

There are two reasons why I would respond like this if I was an AA media person, 

1. Choosing to take this as a possible threat and acting according to the book. 

2. Knowing this as one of those twitter "jokes" yet trying to make an example and lesson to prevent future 'Sarah's about not playing with issues like these which causes chaos. 

I am emphasizing on point 2 because there were too many tweets directed to AA asking them not to take everything seriously. These people are worse than Sarah. Yes, you are dumber than an ignorant fourteen year old. I don't even have to explain why.

Guess what, ofcourse there are Sarah's copy cats who are sending tweets like her's to other Airlines on twitter. I don't know what to say to that.

And yeah, Sarah was arrested. What did you expect ?

Apparently she also stated that she is a Demi Lovato fan who wanted to be famous like her and not like Osama Bin Laden.
If you are defending her just because she is 14, just remember how you were when you were 14. Were you this ignorant ?

This issue addresses every wrong thing that is happening around the internet. (Bullying, Abuse, Racism etc termed as "Jokes") As I always say, IGNORANCE IS WORSE THAN STUPIDITY.

Redhongyi - #LetsCLike

Hey fellas, Let's CLike.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's CLike ? 

I will talk about the pics I ‘clicked or liked’.

Today I wanna talk about one of the instagrammers I follow. I am a selectively active instagrammer (I am not sure if thats a term yet. Well it is now). Redhongyi is one of my favorite instagrammer who loves to paint but not with a paintbrush. It might be an usual line but she actually is one of those who has earned the right to use that line.

She paints with all sorts of stuff that are lying around her. Especially with food. Her mom didn't do a great job trying to teach her not to play with food but she made a career out of it. Best career story ever.

She like every artist started small and now painting celebrities' portraits and she has gone big. Recently she did a portrait of Jackie Chan using 60,000 Bamboo Chopsticks for his 60th birthday. How crazy is that ?

I chose to talk about Redhongyi who claims herself as an artist and not a photographer, which is tricky here because you have to have an artistic character to convince yourself as a photographer. But an artist is not a subset of photographer. Every photographer who captures something he/she likes, has to either see in a artistic perspective or set something as an artist.
So ask yourself, are you convinced with yourself as a photographer who just knows about the camera and editing tools.

I have mentioned this before while agreeing to the fact that, everyone can be a photographer. But an artist is what makes a photographer to convince yourself as one. 
I am mentioning 'convincing yourself' repetitively because that is what matters to me. I take pictures to satisfy me and not convince others. I am sure so does most of us.

So, back to Redhongyi. She not only creates art with regular and irregular objects but creates them based on the theme of what has had an effect in her mind currently. For instance, she projects the news that she feels worth sharing, which makes me assume that she sees everything in her own specific ways and speaks in that way too. By now you might have understood that I am very much impressed with her work and her passion.

Midnight Run - #LetsGetEntertained

Hey fellas, Let's Get Entertained.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Get Entertained ?

I will talk about the Entertainment part of the universe. 

Today I am going way back and gonna talk about the classic movie 'Midnight Run'. Not only because I have to talk about Robert De Niro's movies here but also because I recently watched the movie on TV and it was still like watching it for the first time.

Its a movie about a bounty hunter, an accountant, the FBI, another bounty hunter and ofcourse the Mafia.

Btw I just want to clarify whether do all Italian Mafia names end with an 'O' ? 
Serrano, Kattano, DeVito, Cicero, MARIO ? Just wondering.

One of my favorite movies which I like for its screenplay. According to me a movie with a good screenplay is that, if you write about the story of the movie or narrate the story to someone, its only 1/10th of how the movie is actually being projected. In other words, a movie with a simpler storyline can be made very much more than that by its screenplay. Well, Midnight Run is the best example.

And, Robert De Niro - I don't have to tell you fellas how much of an actor is in proportion with this guy. He wasn't the Jason Stathom in his time with rock hard muscles all around the body but just the fierce grim on his face with ofcourse a hint of cursing would make anyone feel threatened. And here in this movie, the fact that he made us laugh with all those fierce mannerism is beyond what could be explained about him.

The opposite role to De Niro played by Charles Grodin (Duke the accountant) might have been played by Robin Williams, Bruce Willis or even Cher. Well we'll keep to our imagination. But truth be told, Grodin did a great job.

So, if I had to spoil this movie for you, I have to narrate the entire movie. I think thats the most relevant compliment I could lay on this movie.

Here is a new gadget for you to buy this year and this device is for you to buy stuff for your house. Remember when you wished if your grocery list app in your phone could place order of all the items on your list ? Now, Amazon developed the app into a hand held device.

In inventory and logistics processes Voice recognition and Barcode scanning methodologies are not new, but now the technologies are in the hands of the consumers. Now thats interesting.

Although this is not totally a new technology in the field of logistics and inventory management, Amazon has quite impressively experimented and brought it to the consumers in a more appreciable manner.

Vote or Shut up ! - #LetsSeeWhatsHappening

If you want to continue complaining about the government and criticizing all sorts of authority in India, don't forget to cast your vote. Remember, sharing your worthless thoughts and complaints in social media is very important. So cast your vote.

The nine-phase voting period's first-phase of voting for general election started today (7 April '14) in Assam and Tripura. Apparently people queued up even before the voting booth was opened. Isn't that great ? For security and logistical reasons the voting period has been scheduled for over a month concluding on 12 May '14. The votes are counted on 16 May '14.

• 7 April - 2 states, 6 constituencies
• 9 April - 5 states, 7 constituencies
• 10 April - 14 states, 92 constituencies
• 12 April - 3 states, 5 constituencies
• 17 April - 13 states, 142 constituencies
• 24 April - 12 states, 117 constituencies
• 30 April - 9 states, 89 constituencies
• 7 May - 7 states, 64 constituencies
• 12 May - 3 states, 41 constituencies
• Counting of votes - 16 May

In 2009 there were 830,000 polling stations with approximately 714 million eligible voters.

Now in 2014 there are 930,000 polling stations with approximately 814 million eligible voters. 

Now the question is, is it unreasonable to expect atleast 800 million voters to cast their vote and rightfully use their right to vote ? (deducting 4 million for critically reasonable excuses). 

Do you have a critically reasonable excuse to not traveling to your polling station to cast your vote ? 

I am not gonna force feed all the statistics about this election. You have your own will and right to learn that yourselves :) 

We all are certainly discussing about

- Who will make sure about the betterment of the economy of the country in the future ?

- How ridiculous is it to have elected MPs with criminal charges filed against them ?

- How is the controversy of all these national parties getting so much funding from unknown sources, not making a fuzz ?  and etceteras. 

Yes, everything might be either messed up as before or even more, but don't just stop thinking and discussing about it. Act by using your right to vote. 

Even if you don't want to vote to anyone, you should go to the polling station, get your finger marked and say "I VOTE NOBODY" based on RULE 49-O. Every rightful act of the eligible voters means something. 

If you do not use your right to vote, then you lose your right to complain and criticize the government no matter how bad you find it. 

Important Note: You can vote even if you don't have your Voter's ID with you but have your name on the voter list. Use your valid photo identity as an alternative for your Voter's ID. Ex: Driver's license or Passport.

Indians think Indians are funny characters - #LetsSocialize

Hey fellas, Let's Socialize,

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Socialize ? 

I will talk about the socially active and socially awkward topics.   

You know what is so ironic and hilarious ? Indians making fun of other Indians. For instance accents, its hilarious when an Indian is trying so hard to hide the accent to make fun of other Indians'.  Non-Indians say, Indians think they don't have the Indian accent, which offends most of us. But they are not wrong. We do have an accent. May be when you improve your english you might not have a thick accent but still we show a hint.
I don't know why it is offensive. I've never seen Mexicans, Chinese, Japanese etc., trying to hide their accent. But some Indians are soooo concerned about having a non-Indian accent. According to me if your english is good or if you can communicate to another human in english (when you are away from home), thats it, there is nothing more to worry about.

Not just the accent even having a different life style and culture bothers some of us some much that we are confused which ones to choose.

So that is what happens inside India. Now, outside India there are two many different types of Indians.
A. Indians who were born and brought up by INDIAN PARENTS in an english speaking country, 
B. Indians who moved there few years back, 
C. Indians who just moved few months back as a student and 
D. Indians who are visiting for a few months of contractual work. 

Some in every category I mentioned above think each other as people from different race and different land. It is very rare that the people from these categories make inter-category friends. It is not rocket science that Indians from these categories have different accents and culture. But speaking for some of us, I think that makes a huge difference doesn't it ?

Now, (A) act confused. Some act as if they have no idea what India is and its just a word they use when someone asks where are you parents from. I am not accusing everyone but if you wanna see some proof, you don't have to go there, just watch some youtube channels and vine videos the (A) type Indians make. They know one type of comedy for sure - MAKING FUN OF INDIANS. I understand the fact that you have a different passport but why offend your own race ? I think its a defense mechanism. Mock before being mocked ?
I don't want to mention the names of the offensive Indian youtube and vine "stars".
Although I want to mention a really positive youtube star Lily AKA Superwoman. Go check her channel out. She is cool. She makes fun of Indians too but you ll see the difference.

(B) are the calm ones. They know they tried to merge into a different part of the world that isn't home. They made a new home they are happy that they succeeded. May be thats why they never try to become something or have the time to judge others. You can actually never find these type of Indians around, cos they are busy reaching the Level 100 of Tourism even though they have been there for years. I find them interesting. They seek adventure in foreign land hahaha !

(C) are hard workers. They try so hard to try to put a camouflage on them so that no one should recognize them as Indians. (Guys there is something called 'sight'). The first thing some of em try to do is create a group of Indians around them so they can try together. They see another Indian on the street, they pretend they will make sure they don't make eye contact or smile for courtesy. "Run forest Run, there is some stranger from your country".
And this is my opinion, these guys are the most racist people you will ever see. But sly though. They "mock" every race including their own.

(D) are always on an adrenaline rush. Most of them don't try to hide their accents (which is good) but they do one thing for sure, judge every one from A, B and C. They find them as bad Indians. My observation and opinion is, they want to get merged with A, B and C but they will never accept the fact that they want to. And most importantly they always want to share their advice to every Indian they meet outside India. By advice I mean "Change yourself, you are from India. Don't act like western person". They think they are the only proud Indians outside India representing Indian culture.

Ok, by now some of you might have thought that I am a hypocrite offending Indians, but no, all I am trying to say is BE THE INDIAN YOU ARE. Don't worry about your accent if you can't change it. Don't change your life style if you don't like it. 

Note the word 'some' I have mentioned everywhere above, meaning I am not generalizing the entire mass.

I will talk about the pics I ‘clicked or liked’.

Before I cross the #5th week here on TIC Thursday, I have to talk about my buddy deabi's (Baradan Dharumaiyan) clicks. It all started few years back - taking digital pics started with our mutual interests in technology (iPhone) and I would say this fella triggered my interest in photography even more. And I think I can speak for Marcel Malcolm too when I say, he was triggered too by this fella.

Being a "Nature Lover / Explorer / Photo-hobbyist / Bike Freak / Tech savvy" (his own twitter profile description), he kinda fits in to expect cool pics from.

When someone you know takes better pics than you with the ideas you didn't think of, there is no place for competition but a friendly inspiration. Sometimes I steal his ideas too, hahaha !
We discuss a lotta travel and photography ideas and often do weekend photowalks wherever we go.

Btw I can't believe "Selfie" is a word now but "photowalk" is not. 

There are lots of pics to discuss about when it comes to his pics because for some of those I was there. I don't know whether he knows this but, like every amateur photographer, he started developing his own clicking style unintentionally. For instance comparing my pics and his, I always find the subject placement as a major difference. He prioritizes chrome and then on the subject, in that order.

FC Barcelona banned from 2 transfer windows - #LetsGetEntertained

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Get Entertained ?

I will talk about the Entertainment part of the universe. 

First of all kudos to MUFC and Bayern Munich for an awesome game 1-1. Although a red dart on the Tiger was kind of a bummer. Cannot wait for the second leg away match on 10th April. (Ya, I am red)

So, FIFA banned FC Barcelona from transfers for a year, for breaching rules on transfer by registering under-18s in international transfers. The Spanish FA was fined 360,000 GBP.
Wow, not so much of a shocking news but who saw this coming  ?

Apparently, transfer of minors can be established only under certain circumstances. The FIFA stated "FC Barcelona has been found to be in breach of art. 19 of the Regulations in the case of 10 minor players and to have committed several other concurrent infringements in the context of other players, including under Annexe 2 of the Regulations." 
This is understandable when they state it as a violation of rules. Ok Got it. But the reason behind this particular rule makes me go WHAT ? WHY ? 

The gist of the reason is, 'to protect the minors'. Ok may be legally your point is valid and the past might suggest the same and make your point but I still don't understand how they the probable downfall over the benefits. 

The FIFA also stated, "Young football players are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse in a foreign country without the proper controls. This particular fact makes the protection of minors in football by the sport's governing bodies, especially by FIFA, even more important."

The lawyers and social welfare committees might agree to that statement without a doubt but all I am seeing here is, how many of us even know anyone getting a great opportunity in international football BEFORE they turn 18 ? I don't think I need to ask anymore questions. May be I am not seeing the safety of the under-18s but I am pretty sure you are taking away something big from those players. Anything could happen tomorrow. In-fact there is no tomorrow. Yeah, I am totally entitled to my opinion, I know. 

Poor, lucky minors got unlucky and not rich yet. Hahahaha ! 

Above all FCBarcelona with the already ending contracts and planned contracts, is now probably gonna have to do some changes on the bench and line-ups, and need to do a lot of paper works to sort this out. Missing out two transfer windows ? Doesn't sound good at all.

Grid Diary - #LetsTalkTech

Hey fellas, Let's Talk Tech.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Talk Tech ? 

I will talk about Technology and stuff happening around in that part of the universe.

We all like to write journals at the end of the day. And nowadays its much easier with cloud based apps in our mobile and laptops. Choosing the right type of app to write your journal makes it much more easier. For instance, apart from write a passage based journal we also like Quick Journals. What makes a journal a quick journal ? - Questions. What makes it much more easier ? Customized Questions.

Grid Diary app for iOS is one of my favorite journal apps that I use everyday. Its available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. I cannot wait for it to be available for Mac.

Everything is simple in this app and the iOS7 redesign is so elegant.

The app by default gives you a question template with set of general questions. But no one is asking you to stick with those questions. You can always customize the template with your own questions that you want to ask yourself everyday. 

You can always frame innovative emoji questions like I did here. :P Hahaha !

The sync, backup and restore options in this app works perfectly fine and actually really helpful. The recent update added 'Read mode' which is my favorite feature.

I highly recommend this app. It costs $2.99. Although this app goes free once in a while. Follow Orange Octothorpe to get updates on when apps like these go free.

Winter is Coming, Oh wait. No - #LetsSeeWhatsHappening

Hey fellas, Let's See What's Happening.

What will I be talking about in here on Let's See What's Happening?

 I will talk about topics like news and other stuff that I feel I must talk about.

Feeling hot this summer and can't wait for it to be over ? Well the worst is yet to come as always. Not immediately though. But for certain, eventually. Everyone on planet earth has talked about climatic issues atleast once now. Me too. But what are the problems can we actually guess that could occur in the future days ? 

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a UN group that summerizes periodically on climate science recently summerized their report in Yokohama, Japan. This actually pointed out the very much possible effects that could occur in future days due to climatic changes. My point here is, we know every single outcome, but we never agreed to accept. 

Before I say anything, I want to emphasise on the cause of all these catastrophic outcomes - us, Humans. The worst part is the majority of the victims of the outcomes are the ones who is not even remotely causing it. The poor countries. 

Even though this issue concerns every one in this planet, we always leave it to the "concerned" panels to talk about it and we assume they are talking about mars. 

If we, the accused common public are to have a chit chat about this over a coffee, what are the worst would we discuss about ?

Water scarcity ? 

More hurricane ? 

We shouldn't overthink. The outcomes have already been rehearsed in the past events by nature. 

1. The sea ice is melting, causing people to relocate, which causes economical disruptions. 

2. How will farmers work with increasing heat that disturbs everything that is related to agriculture. 

3. The basis of ecosystem itself could be disturbed when animals get fed up and move to other places. 

4. The fossil matter that were here before us, are now meting and decaying to become greenhouse gases. More free heat. Hurray ! (Ok this is not that simple. I read about it too) But still it seems simple enough that we could've understood this in school. 

So basically, economic disaster is one of the leading issue we all are concerned about. Not a complaint. It is Ofcourse excruciating because what else other than money could help in reconnaissance ? 

Everything caused by the climatic changes like, death, increase in poverty, geographic disaster, etc., will all lead to hitting the major factor - Economy. 

It's interesting that we don't see the obvious outcomes. The intergovernmental panel also cited the fact about a World bank estimation of $100 Billion needed per year for poor countries to offset the effects. Would you believe that number ? "Yes", I hear. Me too. 

But there is always a catch. It is said that, there are certain rich countries who disagree on the estimation and think it wouldn't be as worse as expected. And that I can't believe. Even a 12 year old in Boy Scout knows to Prepare for the Worst. 

Well I think the simplest things we, the accused public can do, can make changes. 

Simple, plant a tree. Or Atleast don't take one down. Don't waste water. Don't litter. 

Don't exist (no no just kidding). You wouldn't anyways (hahaha again just kidding) 

Go Green ! (Ofcourse I can say that. I have stopped all the paper bills i receive and subscribed to e-bills) 

I think it is so ironic to use the phrase "Winter is coming" as metaphor here. (Game of Thrones joke)

Counter ChitChat - #LetsSocialize

Hey fellas, Let's Socialize,

What will I be talking about in here on Let's Socialize ? 

I will talk about the socially active and socially awkward topics. 

Everytime you go to your regulars, like the grocery store, restaurant, hair dresser etc., you have to have certain ChitChat at the counters just to keep those few minutes less awkward. But there are always cashiers and attenders who make it even more awkward BECAUSE of the ChitChat. 

Its easier with cashiers in restaurants to ChitChat with while waiting for take aways and also with hair dressers, because you know it is going to take a while and you can either talk about something either one of us started talking about or just pretend eagerly waiting to leave the place. 

But it is so much harder when you pay for just four items in a grocery store. The time window is too small to have something to talk about or its too rude to just say hi and keep starring at him/her pack the items. Especially when there is no one but you at the counter. 

You have to know how to counter the counter chitchat to escape out of it. 

As a daily routine I go grocery shopping in a place nearby and ofcourse when there are cashiers and attenders of almost your age, you HAVE to make chitchats before paying for what you bought. So here, I have the usual strategy to make the chitchat even shorter. #Tip: Talk about time everytime there is an awkward chitchat situation, so that you can always end the conversation by saying 'You have to go'. Simple. 

Ex: Isn't it pretty early for the traffic to ease off today ? Which reminds me I now finally have time to go to the book store before they close today. Bye !  ---- Tada ! Yeah Yeah I know I am brilliant :) Haha.

But last week one sunday evening it got awkward when the cashier started being too friendly and wanted to talk 'girls'. I had to listen to him complaining about how "uncultured" South Indian girls are before using my Time Card. 

The worst part was I didn't know whether he was too serious about it for me to not smile and nod or he was just kidding about it for me to not have a straight face. Either way I will look like a weirdo. 

All I heard in my head after few minutes was "UNCOMFORTABLE, EXIT BUILDING EXIT BUILDING".

He kept talking about how he admires the "cultured" girls who wear traditional attires and how he hates the "uncultured" girls who wear westernized attires. A small questione popped up my head: "How old and ignorant are you dude ?" But nooooo, that might even trigger him more on the topic. So Shush ! 

It went too uncomfortable when he made some sexist comments about girls telling, its only ok for guys to become westernized no matter where you are from, but if you are a South Indian girl, you have to stick with the conservative culture. Apart from being annoyed, I found a window of opportunity to exit the conversation. I just said, "dude chill, there are always different types of girls for different types of girls. You don't have to worry about it". Which apparently made him think for a moment. Even I didn't know what that statement meant. It just came out. Hahaha. 

I confused the confused. (Deep right ? Hahaha) 

Thats when the best words in the world were uttered, "Take Care, Good night".
